Headed to Brickworld

Posted on March 5, 2017March 5, 2017 by captaincreed

The Lego brick has been with me my entire life. Some of my earliest memories are with tinkering with bricks from various sets that I owned – making my own creations. Flash forward to fatherhood and the Legos are still here. Now I tinker and encourage the imaginative creations with which my kids create, and it brings back the memories of when I was their age tinkering, creating, building, exploring.

Between the Lego Movie, Lego Batman, Ninjago, Lego Friends, and many other sets, Legos are a frequent part of our playtime. Whole stories are cultivated in each building session. It’s fun to watch and fun to be a part of.

So, I am pretty excited to take them to the Brickworld Indy Lego Exposition. The Brickworld Exposition is a cool place for kids, and parents, to see the many different fun ways that Legos can be used. From art to engineering, building with Legos fosters the creative juices that develop hand eye coordination, engineering skills, artistic expression, and imagination.

Brickworld Indy will be held on March 18 and 19, 2017 at the State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, Indiana. Hours are 10 AM – 6 PM on Saturday and 10 AM – 5 PM on Sunday. General admission tickets are $12 and kids under 3 are free. They are also pleased to honor active duty and reserve service members and first responders with a discounted $9 ticket (military / first responder identification required). Tickets are available at the door and online at the Brickworld web site – http://brickworld.com/indianapolis.

Thanks to the fun people at Brickworld, I have the opportunity to give away four tickets to the event. If you are local here in Indy and would like to enter, please keep an eye on the Indy Dads Group page for the ticket giveaway. And stay tuned for the recap that we will have after the show.

Don’t live in Indy? Brickworld is coming to Chicago, Il. in June, Michigan in September, and Ft. Wayne, Indiana in October. Check out the Brickworld website for details

In the meantime, just keep building.

I received tickets in exchange for a review post of the event. My words, thoughts, and Legos are all my own.

My audition for the new Most Interesting Man in the World. Actually, it's just me sitting by the fire waiting for the power to come back.
