No WiFi

Posted on April 3, 2015 by captaincreed

Captain’s Log. Diaper Date 2760. Daddy Chronicles: No WiFi.

So I haven’t written about this yet, but on the 1st of the year we cut the cord. I have only seen live television in bars, airports, and other people’s homes.

I watched the Super Bowl on the computer and that is really the only sporting event I have seen. And I have to say, I’m doing fine. I truly thought I would be at my wit’s end, but I am fine.

Truly.

Until the WiFi went out. Now there’s no Hulu or NetFlix. There’s no YouTube for the boy and his incessant desire to watch other people open toys when we have bucketfuls here. The girl can’t watch Ever After High for the millionth time. And Mrs. Captain and I can’t catch up on Scandal.

To quote Ming Ming, “This is serious.”

I have a theory that my provider is missing my extra $100 a month that I was spending on cable and in retaliation they have ground my internet to a halt. But this theory is unfounded.

In the meantime, we have read more, rediscovered VHS tapes (yes, we still have a VCR), and played outside.

Maybe this missing WiFi isn’t so bad. It may be our technological version of Spring cleaning.

At any rate, it will be fixed soon. But I think I get the signal loud and clear.

That’s it for now…Captain out!

Oh no!!! NO WiFi???? Heaven forbid! LOL In the olden days, before coffee shops offered free WiFi, I used to panic when we lost our Internet. And not that it happens often, but when it does, I don’t panic anymore. I pack up my laptop and head up the street to my favorite coffee house. I plug in and am good to go. But to be on the safe side, I carry my own secure WiFi with me wherever I go.

And yes…. I still have a VCR – and I still don’t know how to use it. LOL

      Eydie 🙂

My audition for the new Most Interesting Man in the World. Actually, it's just me sitting by the fire waiting for the power to come back.
