Hello, nightime my old friend,
It’s 2 a.m. and we’re awake again.
Because The Diaper Dweller is not asleeping.
Left his crib while I was sleeping
And the slumber party that was planned for this night
Is out of sight
Replaced with the sound of playing
In restless cries I rocked alone
A littered living room of legos I roam
Neath the halo of tv light
My ears were pierced by screams of movie fright
That split the night
And encouraged the sound of playing.
And in that muted tv light I saw
Ten thousand legos and maybe more
My son was rocking without a sleeping
He was laughing without any yawning
He threw legos around without a single care
Clean? I wouldn’t dare.
It would disturb the sound of playing.
That’s all I’ve got for 2 a.m….sorry.

I am so sorry. Those 2 a.m. mornings are no fun. The only bonus is that you get to spend some quiet, alone time with your precious little one. It’s probably be as special if this alone time took place during the day, too :-/ Hope you got some rest!

Lol! Thank you, my friend. We did get a couple hours and then my daughter woke me up and said that she was hungry. I can’t complain! It is a blessed life.
Guilty! I feel guilty that I slept last night with two softly snoring dogs and a non-snoring husband while you played at 2:00 a.m. with your now walking son! Guilty! (Okay, maybe not really!)
